Looking For Extra Dollars?

I have recently discovered a freelance job posting site where employers can post projects or jobs they need to be completed that people can do from the comfort of their home. If you have any experience with article writing, technical writing, blogging, web design, or even a unique voice (there are projects for people looking for a particular voice) check it out! Its called Odesk.

They have all kinds of jobs listed, so give it a look. I plan on browsing around until I can get an easy one, not necessarily a high payer right away. The key is to build up a reputable profile so that I will be the top choice for the higher paying jobs in the future.

Begin With Graduation in Mind

The very first thing you should do when you get to school besides organizing your room is figuring out exactly just how the next four years are going to go. Now I am not talking about making final, set in stone decisions about your college career; but make sure you have some idea of where you want it to take you. It is okay if you are undecided.

Make some time to do some soul searching.
Ask yourself what is it you enjoy doing so much you would do it for free. If you are still unsure, take classes in a wide variety of subjects to help give yourself some ideas.

I would strongly suggest taking a look in your school's catalog to find out what the requirements are for the various majors. Make a chart of these possible choices and how you would spread your course load for the next four years.

This simple half hour- maximum one hour chore saves a lot of time. It saved me from almost having to take an additional semester after my senior year just to finish my major. Trust me on this one; you won't regret it.

Free Videos For the Visual Learner

I can't say enough good things about Studio 4 Learning, now http://www.STUDYBEAT.com. They have free videos on their site ranging from Italian to Accounting. It even has tuturials on what students should do to prepare for a job interview. I was personally saved from an all but certain F on a test from their videos on accounting. The extended version of their DVD's are available for purchase, but the free videos available on the site contain a lot of content. I plan on using them for calculus in the near future. If anyone can find another site like this one please post a comment about it and let me know about your experience with it.

Welcome

Welcome to College Quick Tips.
There is a lot of tacit knowledge still fresh in my mind that I want to get out on cyber-space to help aspiring college students (like yourself) get the most out of their time at school. I will be posting notes, guides, tips and hints, and even show you some ways you can earn extra money on a student schedule. Everything posted here are things I wish someone had told me when I was a freshman. Feel free to comment or discuss. I look forward to being a positive force for students like you and me.
